Bats are a fascinating species; however, most people could only name one or two types.  Basildon Park is home to about 7 sorts of bats, that’s about half of all the British bat species.

As well as spending time in the cafe! They have plenty of walks in the grounds where you can see some great and ‘challenging’  art.

But what really blew me away was the extraordinary work of the Spanish artist Jaume Plensa.

Particularly the heads which had a beautiful luminescent, surreal quality.

Great to see someone making beautiful art.  Most modern artist seem to steer away from anything beautiful.

IC-e was provided with a design for the site and appointed to develop the search, web pages and back-end administration system for the directory site.

The site aims to provide businesses with a low cost route to advertise on a wide range of sites at only £30 a year. But unlike other directories, Dotty Directory also offers businesses a way of generating income.

Simply by signing up to advertise you get the option to become a Host site.  As a Host site you get your own branded version of Dotty Directory on your own site at no cost.  If the visitors choose to advertise through your version of Dotty Directory you can earn £12 for each advert.

Dotty Directory spreads it’s presence though getting advertisers to become host sites. This increases the visibility of all the participating advertisers so after a while there will be thousands of Dotty Directory websites where advertisers can be seen. This in turn will make the advertising even more cost effective and encourage more advertisers and host sites.

This is a new venture for both Michael Caines and Welsh Slate and we were delighted to be appointed to develop the branding, literature and marketing strategy.

The initial promotional activities are being targeted at the hotel and restaurant market with the initial launch at the Restaurant Show at Earls Court.

The event was a great success and the feedback has been very positive. We will now be working with Welsh Slate and Michael Caines to capitalise on the enquiries generated and on generating further enquiries and meetings with leading hotel and restaurant chains through a variety of marketing campaigns.

Our aim, through the marketing materials and activities, is to inspire the chefs and the industry to see the potential of slateware in fine dining and brasseries. Whilst slate has been used as dinnerware for a number of years this range has been carefully designed, with considerable input from Michael, to meet the needs of restaurants.

The site was initially designed to promote the warehousing units and open storage space on the large industrial complex in Doncaster.

However, following the success of the marketing, all the warehouse units are fully let, so the website is now to be used to promote the open storage space.

Over the next couple of weeks a small SEO programme will be implemented to ensure that it can be found by the right audience.  As part of this the site will move to the domain www.doncaster-storage.co.uk.

IC-e worked with Halton Borough Council, St. Modwen Properties and the Cheetham Mortimer on the marketing of the scheme, which has been very successful and the scheme is now fully let.

This website, the latest part of the marketing, is designed to help promote the new leisure park on behalf of the tenants, including Reel Cinemas, Nando’s, Premier Inns, Widnes Superbowl, Frankie and Benny’s.

Above is a bit of a preview of work in progress.

The new nappies will feature a wetness indicator to tell parents when the nappy needs changing. The relentless march of progress I guess!

This will be the first piece of work we have done for IPEC.  It is an exciting new product that we feel has the potential to really take take the market by storm.  We can’t say any more now, but watch this space.
